Ray Walker
Chief Operating Officer, Encino Energy
Mr. Walker joined Encino in 2018 and serves as the Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Walker retired from Range Resources, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. There, he worked alongside John Pinkerton and built Range into a $12 billion E&P company, pioneering the Marcellus Shale. He previously served in various technical and management roles at Union Pacific Resources Corp and at Halliburton.
Mr. Walker is considered an industry expert in well design, completion technology, fracture diagnostics, horizontal drilling and completions, along with the operations, logistics, and management of large and complicated development programs. He has been published and referenced throughout the industry for his involvement with several breakthrough technologies, including modern horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing. Mr. Walker has been instrumental in working with various government agencies, conservation groups, local communities, NGOs, industry organizations, and elected officials, and co-founded the Marcellus Shale Coalition in Pennsylvania.
Throughout his career, Mr. Walker has been very active in community outreach, scholarship programs, and serving in various church and charity organizations as well as several non-profit boards and commissions. He currently serves as Director of Solaris Oilfield Infrastructure (SOI), and the Ohio Chamber and was appointed to the National Petroleum Council, an oil and natural gas advisory committee to the U.S. Secretary of Energy.
Mr. Walker holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering from Texas A&M.
